Making Magic! (part One)

I am currently a Walt Disney World cast member, thanks to the Disney college program that is. If you don't know what the Disney college program is, its a program where college students get to live in Florida for 3-6 months, sometimes more like in my case, and work in Disney world while learning more about the Disney company.
This program was something I could only dream of for years!!! I started applying for this program once I was a freshman in college. Granted at the time I had no job experience, the only thing on my record was that I was a girl scout and volunteered as a leader for my troupe and in the past for multiple community service projects. Now if you think that is all one person needs to get into this program, you would be wrong because it took me 6 tries, and by the 6th time, I was on my second job that I was with for about 3 years and had graduated from college 6 months prior.
Going into this program the only thing I first knew was the job I would be doing while down here, which was merchandise, so I knew I would be working for one of the shops within all of Walt Disney World. At this point, it was a matter of waiting another 4 months to find out where I would be working. I knew where I wanted to work, right on Mainstreet at the main shop, The Emporium!! It was the shop that everyone knew, kind of the hub for all merchandise in a way, especially within all of the magic kingdom. Now I knew there was a chance that I wouldn't be working there, or in the Magic Kingdom, or even in a park, but the day that I got the email of my location, the magic had already started as I read that I would be working at the Mainstreet Emporium!!
Moving down to Florida was definitely the hard part of it all!! I've lived in New York my whole life and so it felt like I was starting a whole entire new life, being away from family and friends, it definitely wasn't easy at first. I teared up as I waved goodbye to my family, friends, and on the day of my move-in my mom, but at that moment waving goodbye, I realized that my new adventure was beginning.
